"The [comparatively] small increase in [global] emissions in 2012 of 1.1% may be the first sign of a slowdown in the increase in global CO2 emissions, and ultimately, of declining global emissions" - PBL Netherlands & European Commission Joint Research Center
China saw an emissions increase of just 3.3% between 2011 and 2012 (most recent, solid data). This was in comparison to approximately 10% increases each year over the past decade. China has increased its hydropower capacity by 23% in one year, which leads to a reduction of 1.5 percentage points of emission. | |
